location scouting

Location Scouting

We will be filming our thriller opening in Bourne woods. Our group went there yesterday to scout out the woods and we looked for different places to film our thriller. We thought the woods would be a great place to film as its isolated and not many people go there so we won’t get any of the public in or shots and it also adds to the tension as the woods its stereotyped for being creepy and is often where people burry or kill other people in the movies. The woods is also fairly close to Cameron’s house so it will be easy to carry the equipment from his house on to set.

The woods has many trails and paths making it easy to walk around to carry our equipment. The pathways are very open and wide allowing a decent amount of light to pass through this is good as we need a well-lit set to shoot our production on. The woods also has a lake which we plan on using in our thriller opening by dragging someone out of it or pushing a body bag into it.

Although one thing we need to consider whilst filming in the woods is the light. It we need to film around 8:00 to 4:00 as it starts to get dark around 4 and because the view is completely covered by trees it starts to get dark really quick. Another con about the woods as the pathway and trails are really bumpy and uneven making it hard to film a steady shot without moving.
