Soundtrack ideas
We have had to look at different types of soundtracks that work well for our thriller, keeping the creepy genre intact. For the sound we like the track from American Horror Story however we cannot use this as it isn’t copyright free. We have looked at similar music for our planning to use instead.
We have looked at copyright free soundtracks on YouTube and have picked our favourite.
Here is the list of soundtracks we have looked at:
1)Horror-Suspense Music [Royalty Free] Haunted Places - Alex Lisi
This soundtrack is similar to the American Horror Story theme track yet we weren’t sure about the beat that appears half way through as it loses the creepy, mysterious feeling of it.
2)Dark Scary Horror Music | (Download and Royalty FREE)
This soundtrack uses low music, making it more creepy and mysterious. This reminds me of the TV series ‘Hemlock Grove’ intro with the violins being used.
The downside to this soundtrack however is the length, only lasting 1:26. This is bad for our thriller as we have been asked to create a 2 minute long piece. In order for this music to work we would have to loop the music, which would take valuable time and may not sound right. (In order to use this piece we would need to put the creator's name in the credits and link the soundtrack on YouTube.)
3)Dark Tension Rising Music | (Download and Royalty FREE)
This soundtrack also reminds me of American Horror Story with the sudden cello played. This would make our thriller seem more dark and mysterious, making it link with the sub-genre which is horror and psychotic. (In order to use this piece we would need to put the creator's name in the credits and link the soundtrack on YouTube.)
